Hello, I am Janet Pfeifer, founder of Therapath, LLC – Pathways to Hope & Healing. I hold a master's in clinical social work, and I am licensed in the States of Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Through my practice at Therapath, I collaborate with individuals to identify life challenges and strengths, while working to build sustainable paths toward emotional well-being.
I began my professional journey over a decade ago after completing my graduate studies at Fordham University in New York. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of collaborating with individuals and families in community mental health settings, hospitals, and now in private practice. These experiences deepened my commitment to a client-centered approach, where human connection, empathy, and collaboration form the foundation of hope & healing.
I understand each person’s story is unique; by honoring your narrative, I work to develop strategies that fit your lifestyle, values, and goals. My goal is to provide a safe space where you can explore emotions, process trauma, enhance coping skills, and build resilience.
Over the years, I have helped guide clients through a broad spectrum of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem, life purpose/transitions and addiction. When you choose to work with me you can expect a welcoming, safe space, where you will be listened to without feeling rushed or judged. Together we will identify goals and develop a plan to attain these goals.
I will incorporate evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) or Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and will adjust interventions based on what resonates most with you. We will regularly review progress to ensure you keep moving on a path forward.
If you are seeking a compassionate, experienced therapist for your mental health journey, I am here to help. Let’s begin your pathway to hope & healing.

Therapath's mission is to empower individuals with the tools to navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and purpose.

Nearly everyone has experienced anxiety at one point in their life. While there are individuals who can manage these feelings easily, others may find it more challenging. Anxiety Disorders can significantly disrupt an individual's ability to function and engage fully in daily activities. Together, we will look at the factors contributing to these feelings of anxiousness. Once there, we can develop strategies to help minimize your anxiety as it arises.
Depression can make it difficult to enjoy life and engage in activities you once loved. We will work on identifying negative thought patterns and work towards a more positive outlook on life. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based modality, which has been proven to be effective for depression.
Addiction is a disease that requires a compassionate and clinical approach. Addiction often carries feelings of shame, isolation, and hopelessness. All of which create challenges/barriers to individuals accessing supports. I provide personalized support throughout your recovery journey. Together, we will create a comprehensive treatment plan that will start you on your path to recovery.
A range of evidence-based addiction treatments are available, including assistance with referrals to inpatient or outpatient programs. These services encompass harm reduction programs, medication-assisted treatment, intensive outpatient, and residential treatment programs.
Stress is an inevitable part of life. Stress can become overwhelming and cause a negative impact on our mental and physical health.
By recognizing the signs of stress early, you can take simple steps to get ahead of it before it escalates. Incorporating mindfulness techniques, regular exercise, and healthy eating habits into your daily routine can make a significant difference in how you cope with stress. We will develop practical strategies that fit into your lifestyle to manage stress and improve your overall well-being.
While grief and loss are experiences we all encounter throughout our lives, the way in which we process these difficult moments is personal and varies with everyone.
I will provide you a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your feelings of grief and loss as you begin your healing journey.
